How Cannabis
Can Feel
Every body is different. These are general categories, not guarantees. Start low and adjust slowly.
Calm
Relaxing products suited for evening or downtime. Often higher in myrcene terpenes or CBD-forward formulations. Good for winding down.
Uplifted
Lighter, more energetic products for daytime. Often higher in limonene or pinene terpenes. Better for social settings or creative work.
Balanced
A middle ground between calming and uplifting. Good starting point for new consumers. Often 1:1 THC:CBD or moderate-THC products.
Ways to Use Cannabis
| Format | Onset | Duration | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flower | Minutes | 1–3 hours | Strong aroma, versatile, wide strain variety |
| Vape | Minutes | 1–2 hours | Lower odor than flower, convenient, fast-acting |
| Edibles | 30–90 min | 4–8 hours | Slower onset — wait before taking more. Longer lasting. |
| Tinctures | 15–45 min | 2–4 hours | Controlled dosing, flexible — taken under tongue or in food |
| Topicals | 15–30 min | Varies | Applied to skin. Generally not intoxicating. |
| Concentrates | Minutes | 1–3 hours | High potency. For experienced consumers. |
Start Low, Go Slow
Start with a low dose
If you are new, begin with the lowest dose available — typically 2.5–5mg THC for edibles. Less is more until you know how your body responds.
Wait before taking more
Edibles can take 30–90 minutes to take effect. Taking more too soon is the most common mistake new consumers make. Wait the full window.
Adjust slowly over sessions
Once you know how a product feels, you can adjust. Increase by small amounts (2.5mg for edibles) and observe before increasing again.

If You Take Too Much
Stay calm. Cannabis overconsumption is uncomfortable but not medically dangerous for healthy adults. Symptoms pass.
Find a quiet, comfortable place. Drink water. Breathe slowly. Having someone nearby helps.
CBD may help counteract THC effects. A low-CBD product or CBD tincture can sometimes take the edge off.
Avoid alcohol, as it intensifies the effect. Do not drive.
Terpene Library
Terpenes are the aromatic compounds that give cannabis its smell — and they shape the experience. Here are the most common terpenes you'll find on Elevated's shelf.
The most common cannabis terpene. Associated with relaxing, sedating effects. Often found in indica-leaning products.
Associated with uplifted mood and energy. Often found in daytime or sativa-leaning products.
Unique among terpenes — it interacts with CB2 receptors. Associated with anti-inflammatory and stress-relief effects.
Associated with alertness and memory retention. May counteract some THC-induced fogginess.
Strongly associated with calming, anti-anxiety effects. Common in relaxation-forward products.
Less common but distinctive. Associated with uplifting and slightly sedative effects depending on dose.
Often found in uplifting, energetic strains. Gives some products a sweet, tropical edge.
Shares a profile with hops in beer. Associated with anti-inflammatory properties and appetite suppression.
Gentle, skin-friendly terpene. Associated with soothing and anti-irritant properties. Common in topicals.
